Will a Conditional Discharge appear on a Criminal Record Search?

criminal records search

I was recently convicted of a crime, I received a Conditional Discharge, with 6 months probation. I have already completed the terms of the probation order, but I still have almost 5 months to go for the probation order to expire. I have no other convictions, I do have a stay of proceedings though.
I am looking to return to work, and I am wondering if I apply for a job that requires a Criminal Record Check, what will show up. Thanks.

  2. It will probably show up however, it depends on how extensive the employer does the background check. Most background checks are only done thru the counties you have lived. If you didn’t list that county then it probably won’t show up. However, if you aren’t accurate on your application you won’t get hired either. I’d recommend you list everything and explain your situation with the manager interviewing you. Then if it shows up they will know you were honest with them and that could factor into the decision. However, if it was a theft related incident, that might be a tough issue to get thru. Most companies won’t even look at theft convictions as a potential hire.
