I was charged with misdemeanor shoplifting, and it was dismissed, but still shows on my record, and I plead guilty to misdemeanor loitering, because I thought it would be no big deal, and my summer job wouldn’t hire with a pending case.
I have became familiar with expungement procedures and all that is preventing me from doing it is the money to pay the lawyer.
I know most think that only felonies prevent you from getting a job, but I am proof that after nearly 7 months of job searching misdemeanor records play a part too! beyond these two offenses i have no other criminal history.
So, with all this said, if I apply for employment in a different state will these two things show up on my background check?
